Help! I have just bought a new 2 gang switch which has 2 blocks on the back each block has 3 holes: L1 L2 & C

The old switch is a Volex which has 2 blocks divided into two, each block has L1 L2 & L3

The wiring into the old switch is:
Left block:

L1 - brown
L2 - black
L3 - grey

Right block:

L2 - red
L1 - black with red tape around it
L3 - empty

So the question is simple...... which wires go to which hole on the new switch???

L1 becomes COM

The L2 should be now L1 and and L3 should now be L2 but getting L1 and L2 mixed up will not matter what is important is L1 becomes COM.

The wiring into the old switch is:

L1 - brown now com
L2 - black now L1
L3 - grey now L2

Right block:

L2 - red now L1
L1 - black with red tape around it now com
L3 - empty now L2
