Hi,

I am trying to change a light fitting in our battered old Victorian house. I've done this for most of the plugs and lights in the house, however, this one has me stumped. And I'm too scared of blowing the house up to risk it.

I've attached pictures of the existing rose (still connected) and the new light fitting. If you could help me match them up - that would be amazing! And would earn me some brownie points with the missus.

L is not used and new one needs the earth is this a trick question?

Dan we would love to help but it seems from the images, and the absence of a visible loop, that the cables must be connected inside a junction box or similar above ceiling level. We cannot be sure what has happened inside this connection box and cannot therefore safely answer you. Sorry.
