Conduit for sinking electrical socket into wall

Can I use plastic conduit for an electrical socket and sink it in the wall and plaster over it

You could, but there are certain regulations that must be complied to when burying cables in walls.
They must be inside the permitted safe zones, if buried less than 50mm from either surface of the wall, this includes the reverse side of wall. Any newly buried cable (less than 50mm in wall) and any new socket, regardless of depth of cable, will require 30ma RCD protection.
Then there is also building regulation part A to consider, regarding the depth that a wall can be chased into. This involves factoring in the depth/skin of the wall, if a solid wall and whether by doing a chase at unreasonable depth it will trouble the structure of the wall. Those factors are on a vertical chase no greater than 1/3rd of the skin/leaf depth of wall and on the horizontal, no greater than 1/6th of the skin/leaf.
Also by placing a cable or multi-cables in containment such as conduit, you then have to apply a de-rating factor to the safe current carrying capacity of the cable.
