One Way Dimmer Light Switch Replacement

by steve335 » Wed Feb 22, 2017 3:46 pm

Hi I have tried to replace a one way light switch with a dimmer but when I removed the original I found three wires attached rather than the normal two.
Two wires are connected to L1 and one to L2. My new dimmer has L1, L2, and Common and the terminals are too small to accommodate more than one wire. I have attached a picture. Any thoughts?

Hi steve335,
You will need to fit one wire to the common and the other 2 to L1 or L2, if you can't get the two wires into the dimmer terminal use a connector block so you end up with one wire. Don't forget to turn off the electricity.
