Its broken, that's why you can't find another.
Turn the electricity off and remove the lamp, It probably twists 10 degrees, then comes out. If it does it is a GU10 style of lamp.
Are there any other lights in the bathroom? if so, its one of them, but broken.
Get a new one in any good diy store / on line.

I have taken the light apart and the components are shown in order in which i removed, no sign of a GU10 - now very confused and not sure how to proceed

Today some lamps do not have a replaceable bulb as such, the GX53 lamp holder was designed for compact fluorescent and is a flush fitting holder, but most other LED lamps are not designed to have bulb replaced, you change whole lamp.
The old GU10 lamp and 12 volt G5.3 both classed as MR16 (which stands for multifaceted reflector 16/8 of an inch across) do have LED replacements, the GU10 is not a problem, the 12 volt G5.3 however has problems matching the unit which drops the volts to the lamp, mainly due to lamp being under the minimum supply current but also with the frequency of the output.
There is a huge difference between a tordonal transformer and an electronic transformer, the tordonal does not have a minimum output, and is 50 Hz out, but has no regulation output voltage is a percent of input voltage. The electronic regulates the output so far better for old quartz lamps, but also has an output in the kHz frequency range and a minimum output, with a few exceptions.
So the old MR16 lamps have been replaced with new LED lamps with everything built in, because there is a cooling problem with the MR16 meaning the illuminated area is reduced, using a lamp which is 5 inches diameter works better with LED there is a need for a larger area giving out light.
Picture not too good at showing what is there, but I would guess it is one of the new breed without replaceable bulbs.

Have got a picture of the cap on the broken lamp or the holder where the lamp was connected.
The lamp has fallen to bits, will be cheap version.
GU10 and GU5.3 are the normal caps for downlights, the later being 12V and the former 240V. The pins are different for these lamps
