Wall Light With Pull Switch and Confusion Over Which Wires go Where Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

I have purchased 2 new wall lights with pull cords.
Inside the light fitting there are 2 black wires coming out of the pull switch.
No instructions on where to attach these wires to other than a small diagram telling me to tape them together!!
I have the usual blue, earth, red coming out of the wall and brown, earth, blue on the light fitting. Just at bit confused, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Could you post some pictures of what you have?

Blue, red and browns are not a normal combination of colours.

I would guess that the earth and neutrals go to there corresponding terminals.
Then there would be a terminal to connect one of the switch wires to and the incoming live is connected to the other leg of the switch wires.
