Hi all, I have taken a double light switch off (to remove some cladding it was mounted on) and one wire was not connected to anything. It may have popped out of the connection when I removed the cover.
I have put it back into the connection I thought likely but now when one of the switches is acting like a master switch for the other side.
There are 2 main wires into the switch. One has a bare copper, red and black. The other just has a red and it is this red one which was unconnected.
The switch has 6 connection options with a wire link from the bottom left to the top right.
Where should the single wire go?
Thanks for your time.

The single wire assuming you mean the red , could be a switch wire . if it is , does it have an earth wire ( cpc) , but as Mr white says we want more info , photos are handy.

Looked at your images.
The twin cable ( red and black ) COULD be a feed ( red ) and switch wire black.
Turn off power at mains First ( SAFE ISOLATION ) and put red of twin in postion where you currently have single red. The single red is probaly a switch wire . A grey cable ( link ) looks to be taking a feed from the red ( twin cable ) to the black wire ( another switch wire ) . the single red could be tried in L1 opposite the common of the other red.
The earth ( BARE copper wire ) should be sleeved with earth sleeveing ( green and yellow ) and the single red should have an earth in the cable and should be sleeved green and yellow and connected with the other earth.
You could get a local registered electrician to check your connections.
