2D 4 pin Bathroom Light Electrical Problem

Hi there, we have a 4 pin 2D light in our bathroom which is shining very dimly, under 10% of what it used to. I bought a new bulb in case that was the problem, but have just replaced it with the new one and the same problem still persists.

It also has a fuse (pictured below), but am I right in assuming that if the fuse had gone then it wouldn't be working at all?

Anyone know what the problem might be? Any help much appreciated.

The item in the picture that is NOT the lamp is NOT a fuse. It is a "starter" (In short English, it starts the light working) I would guess the choke has failed in your light. To save time / money I would suggest you buy a new light fitting and change the whole lot. (Must be suitable for bathroom use)

That is a starter not a fuse and needs replacing.

Mr white is correct , it could be the internal choke , i have had this with loads of these fittings. Unless as Ericmark says and it is a faulty starter or tube then a new fitting is required.
