Just spent about 5 days sticking wet wall round the sink and 80 pounds on a lovely chrome over mirror light. But alas no earth wire sticking out the wall and the light fitting instructions say 'must be earthed'. Any magic solutions out there?

SADLY NO . THIS IS A CLASS ONE APPLIANCE WITH A
CONDUCTING FRAME OF METAL WORK.
IN THE EVENT OF A LIVE CONNECTION TOUCHING
THIS METAL WORK IT WOULD B A SHOCK HAZARD IF NOT
CONNECTED TO EARTH .
NEED TO PROVIDE AN EARTH CONNECTION AND POSSIBLY REWIRE WITH A SUITABLE CABLE.

If anyone's interested, it looks like I'll need to recable.
Best way to do this, I'm told, is to tie new cable to old and pull through from loft, removing old cable and pulling new into place.

YES IF U HAVE AN EARTH UP IN LOFT ON CIRCUIT.
BUT U MIGHT HAVE TO REWIRE BACK 2 MAINS BOARD.
IT IS NOT DIY THOUGH, NOTIFIABLE WORK.
PART P INVOLVED CHECK PROJECTS ON DOC S SECTION.
