Ceiling Pendent Light in Bathroom and Plastic Coming Away

In our bathroom we have a ceiling pendent light where the plastic around the light fitting is coming away (it's around 30 years old) and needs replacing.
My immediate thought was to replace the fitting but my thought turned to the IEE regulations.
It's outside the various zones - but is there any rules about how far down it can hang? As long as it does not hang into the 'zones' I assume it's okay.
I thine thought - thinking of a low hanging light in our living room - is there any rules on how far a pendent light can hang in 'other rooms'?
