Microwave Ventilation and Reducing Recommended Air Gap

Hi, I had planned to fit a microwave tight under a wall unit and with one end tight against another wall unit like a built-in oven. However the siting instructions say that the microwave needs 300mm clearance above it and 75mm on the other sides. Is it that microwaves are hotter than built-in ovens and if built-in would over-heat and be a fire danger or could I safely reduce the recommended air clearances?
I would appreciate any help with this query.
Thank you

If the makers of your microwave went to the trouble of giving clearances, I would say they did it for a good reason, if you choose to ignore them and a fire results from your actions, who will you blame then?
