Maintenance Free Junction Box for Extending Ring Main

by Benji » Sun Apr 15, 2018 10:02 am

Hi all,

Think this is the right place to post.

I've needed to extend a mains ring and by doing so just needed to connect two ends of 2.5mm T+E together under some floorboards.

I'd have normally used a screw JB but having read some posts on JB's this appears to not comply as it won't be accessible. I've gone for some ideal spliceline push in connectors in a choc box instead which is fixed to a joist about half way down. Can I just check that this is all correct before the boards go down.

Thanks
Benji

Its a bit late now (But that's how this forum works) But You should have tested the ring before you re energised it.
The connectors you have used are rated for 32A so they are ok, as it the box you have used.
