New LED Celing Light Very Dim ?

Hi everyone,
I have recently added a new ceiling light and as the title says it is very dim. Clearly something is not right with what I have connected up (since the 200 lumen bulbs are giving off about 1 candle power). The house has the older colour format for the wiring and there are three power cables coming from the ceiling. I tried some halogen bulbs instead and these didn't even work at all.

Below is a picture of what I have connected, which I am pretty sure was the same as the old light which worked fine. The white cables coming in are for the new light fixture. The previous light didn't have an earth but this one did so i connected it to the earth post. If anyone could shed some light (no pun intended) on the situation I would be most appreciative.

Thanks very much!

Switch the electricity off at your consumers unit first.

The three reds in the centre, remove your "new light" (white) wire from them.
The white wire you now have should be connected to the unused terminal where the two blacks are. (The other white wire stays where it is)
Switch the electricity back on

Hi,

Thanks very much for the reply. Just for clarity and from now looking at some pictures, the brown wire (from the light) should go to the block where there is a single black wire and an empty slot, and the blue wire (from the light) should go in to the empty slot where the two black wires are? Or have I got this the wrong way around?

Thanks again for the reply.

Correct.
If correctly wired the single black wire should have had a red sleeve on it.
