Earthing of Ceiling Light but no Earth for Support Bracket

I am changing a ceiling light. Following the manufacturer's instructions, I have terminated the Live, Neutral & Earth. But there is no requirement to Earth the light supporting bracket.
Can you confirm if this is required, as the bracket was Earthed on the original ceiling light

Without specific details, it is not possible to answer your question and be correct. Pictures of the light and fixing would help.
