Hi there,

Grateful for any advice... I am trying to blank off an electrical socket that is no longer going to be in use due to a radiator being fitted on the wall where it is. Am I right in thinking that I can put the wires from inside the socket into a junction box then fit a blanking plate and that will be sufficient? I just want to make sure it’s all safe.

You will not be able to fit a junction box inside a back box, and if you could the box must be accessible (Which it will not be because of the radiator)
You can buy "maintenance free" connectors (Wago) which would comply, but you would have to buy a box full just for 3 of them.
You can not use "connector strip" as it is not "maintenance free"

Personally, I would leave the socket where it is, as it will do more harm than good to try to "bypass" it.
