Bathroom Extractor fan Tripping and Bodged

Hi
Recently moved into a property and am finding some problems , noticed the bathroom extractor fan looks to have been bodged, there doesn’t look to be isolated anywhere as it’s connected to the lighting circuit with no timer etc so just turns on and off with the light switch . It’s not sealed in properly so airflow just coming straight out the sides of the unit . This morning it’s started tripping the circuit . Guessing it’s a job for an electrician but wanted to get any other ideas .
Thanks
