Ceiling Light Confusion for 2 Lights Wired to Same Switch

Hi, trying to put Up 2 ceiling lights - from the same light switch, never had lights attached before.
One light is simple - the wires from the ceiling are brown blue earth.
The other light has 3 wires coming out of the ceiling
1 - brown blue earth (brown is hot) - i presume this comes from the light switch
2 - brown blue earth - i presume that this is the other light.
3 - brown brown earth.
Any idea what i attach to what? And what attaches to the new ceiling light (brown blue earth)
Please help, I’m lost.

One would expect the brown, brown, earth to be switch, but colours mean nothing, what you need to do is mark which wire is which before disconnecting old ceiling rose, or test the new wires.
I have been thrown off this forum once for trying to help some one identify without using a meter, so sorry you will have to read the help files and work it out.

Hi , thanks for the reply , there were no lights in place when i bought the house , just the wires sticking out of the ceiling, so no reference point unfortunately.
But thanks anyhow.

As said likely the twin brown is the switch, so standard ceiling rose one brown of the twin brown and earth into twin connector on one end, rest of browns into centre three connectors, and two blues into three connector at other end, all earths sleeved and together under earth clamp and the flex to bulb goes either end.
However there is some guess work here, and really you should not guess, you should put a meter on the two browns to confirm they go to the switch.

All that can be done is guess since it is the choice of the person who wired it what colours they used for what. (It is not supposed to be the case, but in the real world, it is what happens.) Guessing could end up with a bang or worse, you need to get a competent person in to do the job for you.

Thanks for all the support.
The 2 brown wires were from the switch (checked at the switch itself) once I had understood what you were all saying I checked with my MM and it wires up exactly as you all suggested.
Lights working, no bangs and no shocks.
Thank you all.
Cheers
