Hello everyone, I hope you are well.

Im following an online guide at the moment to build a Variac Speed Controller.

The project requires me to source components. Unfortunately these components were originally sourced from Maplin ( 10 amp DPDT Relay. part number N09AW,8 pin din socket. part number N34AW (maplin) ).

I’m terrible with electrics and so was wondering if anyone could recommend an alternative amp and din.

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards,
Ted

If in doubt............look on ebay.
There are quite a few on there, take your pick. But why a relay ?

Oh, you can also buy a variac speed controller ready made on.........ebay.

Ah, didnt realise ya could buy them ready made.

Its for a fan controller. I looked on ebay but wasnt sure if I was buying the right one. I can follow instructions and make stuff but electrics confuse me.

That being the case, I would suggest you get a competent person to do the job for you, as you would say "electrics can kill you" and it does not give second chances.
