Hi,

We have recently bought a house and are in the process of redecorating.

This wire comes in to one of the rooms with what looks to be a box for an internet cable?
I’m wondering if there would be any easy way to remove this as we don’t want the box in the room. Would it be costly to have somebody remove?

That is a phone socket.
You could plug a phone into it and find out does it work.
You could follow the cable to see where it goes and disconnect it there.
You could coil it up and leave it.
