Rewire E27 Fitting

by saki » Tue Sep 15, 2020 2:25 pm

I need to rewire an E27 fitting in an outside light as the existing wire is not long enough. I have taken the fitment apart without a problem but cannot figure out how to detach the wires. Previous fittings I have used all had the usual screw holders for wires. Am I missing an obvious way to detach/attach wires or is it not possible to detach wires. I have attached photo.

It seems to be a maintenance free one, likely a small screwdriver in the hole next to where wire is will release it.

Thanks for your reply. I did try inserting a screwdriver there before I posted. I saw the clips that the lamp screws onto to make a connection at the back of those holes and didn't want to push too hard. I will give it another shot tomorrow.
