What regs apply to fitting electric meter board?

by Itsmalc » Fri Nov 06, 2020 2:14 pm

Can anyone tell me which (if any) regs apply to fitting meter boards?
Can the meter board be fixed directly onto the wall, I notice that the original is spaced away from the wall slightly, is this necessary?
Can a CU box (1xRCD + 3xMCB's) be fixed directly to the wall or does it need to be fixed to a meter board?

A consumers unit can be installed where you like (Within reason)

As for the board your electricity meter is mounted on, that belongs to the DNO and you can not touch it.

If on the other hand you are having a secondary meter fitted you can install it however you like, but a board spaced off the wall is good. (The space is to allow air circulation.)
