Remove and replace bathroom light c/w shaving socket

by blinwood » Mon Nov 30, 2020 12:12 pm

Hi! We currently have an ugly surface mounted bahroom light with a shaving socket. Is it feasible and safe to install a junction box on the original mains power feed (3-core) and have one power feed from the junction box to a new wall mounted light and a second power feed from the junction box to a standalone shaving socket, mounted inside a bathroom cabinet

Get some Wago connectors. They are better and smaller than a junction box.

I see nothing wrong with doing the job, I would want RCD protection and since a bathroom is a special location would not do it in a rented property, not sure if counted as like for like when splinting them up, but for owner occupied would not really worry, but would not do it with a rented property.
