Finding replacement shower ventilator lamp

by proftanda » Wed Mar 17, 2021 8:28 pm

Hi, we’re trying to find a replacement MR16 lamp for a ventilator above a shower with a built in down light.

The transformer doesn’t support low power LED lamps so it has to be 20w or greater.

We’re not sure what the correct IP rating for this lamp would be and, in any case, can’t find any non-LED lamps that specify an IP rating.

Can anyone help point us at a suitable replacement?

Thanks!

Any 20w halogen lamp will be suitable. The lamp IP rating does not matter (Which is why you are having trouble finding it) The IP rating usually applies to the fitting into which the lamp will be installed.
Use a 20w lamp as the transformer will be damaged if you exceed its rating.
