seriously

I have 3 low voltage spots fitted in my bathroom, one of them over the shower is also an extractor fan

A few days ago the bulb in the extractor stopped working and when I removed it, it looked blown. It was a 50w 12v MR16 bulb, with 5.3mm twin prongs - hope that means something.

I replaced the bulb, like for like and it worked for about two hours. Then it stopped.

since then I have replaced like for like and nothing. I have also tried a 35w and a 20w but to no avail. All this time though the other two lights are working fine

I've been in the loft and I think the shower light works off its own transformer. The extractor still seems to work

Any help before I need to call a spark?

just a thought, did you shower while the lamp was removed from the fan ?

good shout, but sadly no. I have given the shower a wide berth, much to the disdain of the missus
