Replacing visor cooker hood with chimney cooker hood?

Hello,
Hope you can help. I'm not a DIY expert at all, and struggling to get an answer to this. I need to replace cooker hood.
I have an old style visor cooker hood directly under a kitchen cabinet. When I open the kitchen cabinet I can see flexible ducting hose curving from the top of hood into the hole in wall behind the cooker.
Most visor cooker hoods are low powered, ideally I'd like something with a higher extraction rate, like a chimney hood.
Is it possible to install a chimney hood, like a visor cooker hood. Do they have flexible ducting hose inside the chimney, so I don't even need to install the chimney, and can just hide all the parts behind the cabinet door?
