I’ve changed the GU 5.3 Downlight holders in bathroom, however, the old fitting had a bracket for holding the connector, the new one doesn’t.
Is it safe for the connector to be pushed up into the ceiling without being connected to a bracket ?

Hi dumarquez
If you will be fitting halogen lamps it would be better to not leave the connector loose due to the heat created by the lamp, which can melt the connector. If you are fitting led gu5.3s then it is not so critical.

If the new lamp holders do not have a connector fixing, I suggest you buy a better quality lamp holder to save any problems in the future.
