Hi

I have a pc fan which normally plugs into a motherboard on a pc.
I have cut the plug/connector off the end and now I need a way of wiring it so some kind of power supply so I can run it outside of the pc, I am assuming wiring a plug on the end will be too much power supply for a small fan.
It's DC12v (0.8v) Help?

Hi, you stated 12v DC, so either rechargeable battery as used in alarm panels etc. or small motorcycle battery plus trickle charger. Definitely NOT to be connected to 230V AC mains direct.
this is going to be too much expence / trouble for whatever you are doing,
why not use small, cheap, mains desk fan???regards SPARX
