Re-fitting fluor tubes to ceiling light fitting

Hello
I'm having difficulty re-fitting a couple of tubes to my ceiling mount light fitting.

(I didn't remove the original tubes for me to reference).

The attached picture shows the end connection on the light fitting, the copper contacts are at 9-3 position.

Is this orientation correct after removing a faulty tube?

I was expecting them to be 12-6 position.

TIA

Your expectation is correct.
You put the tube in with the contacts at 12 & 6 then rotate the tube 90 degrees, so the contacts are at 9 & 3

Thanks.

However, seems I am pushing the tube pins against the hard black plastic insert in the fitting at its 9-3 position in my photo, when installing the tube.

I was expecting the pin slots to be at the 12-6 position?

Has something moved in the fitting when the original tubes were removed?

If a fluorescent tube has been broken the hole will be 90 degs out, I stick tube in one end at a time and turn it to get pin holes vertical again.
