Fluorescent light fixture replacement with new led light

Hi,
I'm looking at replacing my old fluorescent light fixture with a new led fixture. This is my first bit of electrical work other than rewiring plugs etc.
I've removed the cover and was aiming for a "remove the electrical wires from old fitting and put in new ones" approach.

The coloured cables are not quite what I expected however....

The out put wires into the fluorescent light fixture are brown / blue with the yellow green earth in the middle (I was expecting this). But why is there a black /yellow wire going into the top? And why is there a black blue wire into the bottom?

Also what is that red wire at the bottom that's been terminated?

New light fitting attached.

All electrics off when working on it and the house is from late 70s.

Any help much appreciated.

The red wires have to stay as they are, even in your new fitting, if you don't leave them as they are the other lights will not work.

Your picture is somewhat small and I for one can not see a black and yellow and a black and blue.

Could you please take another bigger picture?

Thanks Mr White.
Sorry about the picture quality - struggled to upload within the requirements while still getting the quality!

I took a punt and went with blue + black = neutral and blue and yellow = live.

Seems to have worked as new light is working

Kept the red as is and just threaded into new light fitting.

Thanks for the picture, but I would have needed to see where the remainder of the cable goes, but as you now have it working............

Just as a point of note, there is no guarantee as to what colour does what as it is down to the choice of who ever is installing it.
