Do I need thicker flex if making it longer?

I'm sitting up a load of LED lighting bars (2 different sizes) & they all come with the figure of 8 style flexes with moulded plugs that 1 metre long & are 0.5mm.

I was just about to swap these out 3 metre ones (0.5mm which I already have) then I thought I should check if I can stick to 0.5mm or would I need to buy something thicker? 3 metres seems nothing to me but I'm no sparky so thought I should check!

The larger units use around 60 watts & the transformer says "Output 21-33v 1200mA +3%".

Cheers!

0.5mm cable on the mains side will be acceptable.

Great stuff that'll save me a few quid, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't putting savings over safety.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
