Mounting A Magnetic Contact Switch On A Curved UPVC Frame

Hello,

I need to mount a flat, magnetic alarm contact to a curved UPVC window frame. I wondered if anybody has a solution for mounting it please?

I thought maybe cutting away a section of the curved part of the frame with the hope there's a flat surface underneath to mount the switch but have no idea what's inside a typical window frame. Another idea was to use some Milliput to form a base for it but could look shabby.

Any other ideas please?

Thank you very much.

If you mount it on the curve how long before it gets knocked off? (Rhetorical question)
Mount it on the flat surface and use a bigger magnet or double the magnets.
Do test it with your meter before you fix it with screws

Many thanks for the reply.

I think the flat surface will be beyond the 20mm range specified but no harm in trying I suppose.

I would suggest you read my post again.

Above is a "uPVC" door with magnet and contact, they are both overesized to overcome the gap. (Magnets doubled up also work, if you do it right.)
