Help! My father in law unscrewed a 2 gang light switch from the wall to decorate and the wires that were connected broke off the terminals.
When I had a look I was puzzled as to the wires that were present. There are three cables coming into the switch, one cable has a black and red with earth, but the other two have 4 wires coloured black, red, yellow and earth.
where do these wires go onto the switch? One switch is for the hallway and the other is for a porch light.

Ask an electrician to have a look. not enough info here to answer your question. & red yellow black cable sounds a bit odd! Red yellow blue I'd expect.
