I need to remove the ceiling pull switch for a bedroom light and leave the wall switch as the only means of switching the light. If I disconnect the wires in the pull switch and insulate them, will that be safe and will the light operate normally?

When disconected the wires from the pull switch must be traced back to their origin and disconnected there Kevin. It is not safe to leave lile wires traioling about however well insulated.

DOC's correct of course, and at wall switch you will find most likely a twin red/black plus a three core red/yellow /blue, disconnect the three core entirely, this will leave the red&black in L1 & L2, move L2 to the other end of the switch C or common term.
