Water Heater Switch

I have got an immersion heater which has a timer switch connected to it, unfortunately the switch has died (only a few months old) I have contacted the supplier and they are sending out a replacement but this leaves me without water until it arrives. What I want to do is connect the old switch back up so I can have some hot water until it arrives, I just want to check I get the wiring correct before I go ahead. The switch has 2 terminals on the top marked 1 and 2 and 2 terminals on the bottom with 2 earth terminals on the side. I know where the earth goes but I'm not 100% sure about the rest - this is what I think:

RED and BLACK from mains to terminals 1 and 2
BROWN and BLUE from Immersion heater in bottom terminals

Does this sound correct and does it matter which terminal each colour is connected to?

Thanks

Hi, sounds OK as long as Blk. is in line with Blue & red inline with Brn. vertically as double pole switches 'make' top to bottom, regards SPARX
