Nuisance MCB tripping

I have fitted a new low volts mulitple halogen light. It is driving me nuts. Every so often the MCB on that specific lighting circuit trips.
I tend to think it is the MCB which is an old 5A MEM Type 1 trip. Problem is I can't find a replacement MCB to fit in the same consumer unit.
Is it likely to be the trip? Are there compatible replacements out there?

not being awkward here but , with power isolated have all connections been checked for correct polarity , and r they tightly
connected . if insulation resistance tests on cable only , with no loads
connected , have come out okay , and r1 + r2 to check you r adequately
earthed ( also obtaining an earth loop reading to confirm integrity of earthing )
then u could have a faulty transformer or the MCB could be faulty.

Hi p-Paul, I think you may be right abt. type 1 mcb as don't allow much 'inrush' current b4 tripping & halogen types are high inrush load,also 5A only allows abt. 1000W total load so may be combination of both, unfortunately as you say no suitable replacements for old type,
confirmation only - not much help I'm afraid,
