replacing a ceiling rose

i am repacing a ceiling rose but the colours are different the colours in the ceiling are two red and two black when iput the rose on the light in the other bedroom stayed on

very common problem one of the blacks should have been marked with red sleeve to identify its live ,you need to identify the switch wire ,,it will be one of the red and blacks ,the other red and black is the feed in live and neutral ,,once youve found the switch mark black with red tape or sleeve,connect the reds to loop terminal single black to neutral terminal and black with red sleeve to live terminal if you had connected all the reds and blacks together when you switched the liht on it would have tripped the circuit breaker or blown the fuse ,check out diy doctor wiring
