13A Sockets in Kitchen

I'm currently having a new kitchen fitted and having my exsisting washing machine & Dryer hidden behind some doors.
My problems is that the electrician has put the sockets for these appliances in the adjacent cuboards with plastic back boxes ( they look a right mesS)
The Electrician says that this is common pratice, but if i want to change my dryer for a new one, i have to empty the adjacent cuboard, cut off the plug top a feed the cable through the underneath of the cabinet. then do the same with the new Dryer flex.
Can the socket for the dryer be installed at the back of or in the same cabinet as the dryer.? If isolated above or not even?
Also, is he allowed to install a 13A socket via a plastic or metal back box to the wooded kitchen cabinet[i]
thanks for your help
