I am about to install 4 wall lights in a room and take the power from the ceiling rose in the same room. I was going to place a 20 amp 6 terminal junction box in the ceiling space and connect each light seperatly from there, the same way as described here https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/pr ... trical.htm

However someone has told me that this is not the best way to do it and I should connect each light in series with seperate cables running from light to light. Could someone tell me which is the best\correct way. :?:

thanks

HI doodlebug,
The someone was right, they both work. But installation of junction boxes no longer common practice. It is easier to fault find using the loop in method, that's the one which run from fitting to fitting.
Be safe and take a look at the part p section in the doctors projects regarding domestic installation regulations.

Thanks for your help with this KB.

Once I have completed the work I intend to get someone to check and certify it.
