I have a light in the kitchen and one in the dining area. There is one switch block but with two switches - one for each light. Because of this I fnd the way the switches have been wired confusing. I have taken close up photos - how can I post these so that you can see theproblem?

I have bought a dimmer switch block with two switches to replace the existing but I'm not sure how the wire it.

Help, please.

Most dimmer switches are single way with just two connections. Some two way are made where you push for on / off and twist for dimming but most double switches use the same moulding for single and two way versions the second contact hole being left empty with nothing to clamp the wire even though the hole is there so each lamp is connected to one terminal called common and another often marked 1 the two wires being near to vertical alinement for each lamp. But you are not sure then maybe better to get someone in to do the job. As to Photos if you did a search for my full name Eric Mark Palmer I am sure you would find me but if you don't give a full name then finding your web site is unlikely so would not be able to view your photos on web site.
