Hi,
I am thinking of extending a spur socket through a 30amp junction box to the other side of the room. I have been told that there is a maximum distance the spur cable can run. Can anyone advise what is the maximum.

Hi, the rules for ring circuits are quite simple, much misunderstood, & much talked about!
As long as the total floor area covered by a ring circuit is no more than 100M2 the limits on what can be wired are:
No more outlets on spurs than are on the ring, ie 12 on ring upto 12 as spurs ect.
only one single or one double on any spur, (unless the tee-off point is a fused connection unit when you can have an unlimited number from it).
There is no limit to the length of a spur in the regs as it is unlikely you would need to run more than a few metres before getting nearer to another part of the ring anyway.
