I have brought a new double light switch. I did write it down where the wires went before removing the original one but it has got lost. Any ideas that could help as I have been trying now for nearly 2 weeks.

More info please as possibilities endless, are switches both only 1 way or do 1 or both form part of a 2 way arrangement?
how many cables? are they twin/Earths or are they 3core/earths?
If 2 way look at sw at other end of circuit and note colours used in each terminal, especially the com. term!
