Can anyone tell me where I can buy the actual plastic dimmer swith units, rather than the whole Brass Plate and swith(es)
Cheers

You can get them from Radio spares but it will cost more than ready built unit you buy and select the little blue thing can't remember name off hand the select the resistor pot and knob. I have built them into machines in the past also you can get grid type also but can't see why you would want to as it costs so much more than the china assembled ones available so cheap.

Found it. It's called a IC,regulator,power,phase-angle,10A,large-tab,CSR1004B
These cost £16 plus vat and don't include the pot.
Pot for 230 volt 250K at 1 watt

usually cheaper to buy the white version with the same size spindle.
un nut it and fit on your old brass plate , carefull not to scratch brass and reuse old brass knob
Home automation 400watt ones are usually seperate modules with a push on/off spindle, if you want two buy a two gang,

Thanks for replies.
Can't believe the price of the plastic bits !
Yes I was thinking along the same lines of getting the white ones.
I remember that last time I bought a brass replacement I had to take it back as the plate was slightly smaller than the original - something other visitors to this site should look out for !
Thanks again
