New Ceiling Light Fuses Circuit When Switched Off?!

I have just fitted a new ceiling light and it keeps fusing the circuit when it's off...I wired it as follows:

There are three cables in total (assume 1 from previous light circuit, 1 to/from switch and 1 to next light in circuit). With the old light, the individual wires in each of the cables each went into an individual holder with 1 live / 1 neutral wire coming out into the light. My new light only has 3 wire holders so I twisted each of the live, neutral and earth wires together and put in the respective holders on the new light. The circuit is fine as long as the light is on but as soon as I switch the light off the lighting circuit fuses...

If anyone could advise where i may be going wrong i would be very grateful.

HI markbalham,
You said three cables, all containing Live, neutral and earth.
As you stated incoming, outgoing and switch wires and your correct!
The wire you said was coming from the light should be wired to either side of light (connect the blue flex on the light to neutral wire and the brown flex to live wire)
The other two lives should be connected together and the earth should be conneted together.
That should sort your problem out, the two switch wires should be tagged with red or brown tape/sleeve
