wiring in old style plaster

hi,

I live in a tenement flat which is mostly lath and plaster, some walls just plastered over brick.

The wall adjacent to my bath is a brick wall which has been plastered over, with a cable for an electric shower running through it. I am now wanting to remove the shower (so, also the cable).

Anyone got any tips for getting it out of there without tearing the wall open?

ta,

Hector.

If the cable is in a conduit as it should be you may be able to pull it through from one end or another but the reality is you better learn a bit about plastering!

HI molecular,
The doc is right, if in conduit you should be able to pull it out. But if not you need to identify route of cable and cut a channel either side of cable so to minimise the damage to the wall when you remove cable, remember to safely isolate before you carry out any work. If in any doubt get a electrician in.
Good Luck
