I am haveing problems wireing up a dimmer switch,
on removeing the old switch i found that all the blue wires have been joined together, there was 2 brown wires in L1 on one side of the switches which has a link wire across to L1 on the second switch.
There is one brown wire out of each of the L2 terminals, the eath wire is into the earth terminal.
I wired up the new switch the same way but non of the lights work!!
What am i doing wrong???

Hi as long as you didn't mix up the 4 brown wires it should work, recheck all connections to make sure screws are on copper and not insulation, also having 3 browns in one term is easy to miss one.
WAIT a minute.... L1 & L2 ???are you sure there isn't a 'common' term usually marked with a squiggly arrow through a circle symbol?
most double dimmers have 3 terms as they are usually 2 way enabled.
If so then the linked lives in (browns) go to 'com', and outgoing lives go in L1, have another look, all else fails read the leaflet that came with dimmer switch, we never do do we?
