Wiring a 2 gang 2 way light switch?

Hi, i have just bought all new switches because the other ones were starting to look worn etc. I thought it would be easy to replace them as they would all be the same....wrong..!!

The old switch works 2 lights and has common and one way at the top with L1 L3 L2 there was a red wire in L1 nothing in L3 and a blue wire in L2.

The bottom has 1 way and common (opposite way round from the top) and L3 L2 L1 there is a yellow wire in L3 blue in L2 and a red wire in L1. there is a spare yellow wire dangling doing nothing, so not sure where thats supposed to be going?

The new switch has 2 holes at the top saying common on both and 4 holes at the bottom saying from the left 1 way 2 way - 1 way 2 way.

Can somebody explain to me how to wire the new switch?

thanks simon

Hi Simon,
it sounds like the spare yellow has become loose and belongs in Top L3,
that being the case logic says.
One side at a time start at the left
Spare Yellow (Top L3) in common
Top L1 red in 1way and Top L2 blue in 2way.
Then repeat that on right of switch using bottom cables. Common L3, one way L1 and two way L2
That should do the trick.
I don't know which side switches which light but if it seems more sensible for the switches to operate the other light, swap them round so top L1, L2, L3 are to right side of switch and Bottom to left.
Hope that sorts your problem.
remember to safely isolate before any work carried out.
Good Luck
