Hi all.
My question is:
If a gas meter was installed on the external wall of a property (which many are) and the gas pipe runs up the outside of the house from the meter for about 2 metres, then in through the wall and then under the upstairs floor boards, for 5 meters to the boiler at the opposite side of the house. Your CU was positioned about 4 meters away from gas meter on the same side of the house. What would be the correct method/route to install your equipotential bonding conductor from the CU to the gas pipe?
Bearing in mind, it's recommended that the bonding takes place as close to the meter as possible (600mm) and the meter is outside the house.
Any thoughts appreciated.

I have always routed from one meter box to other. I have taken ages routing through the cavity when missed out many builders put a membrane above the meters to stop the insulation from filling that space.

hi KB, my understanding is either at meter as you state or within 600mm of point of entry to property from external meter ,but must be before any branch or tee. So as long as single pipe from meter into house then at point of entry fine, sometimes though pipe may tee off to say a gas fire etc. in which case must bond before pipe branch,

So if tees off under floor must be bonded before tee, under floor nearest point of entry to building.
So is this okay because it not a visable connection?
And if it does not tee off before boiler connection or after pipes come up through the floor can be bonded above floor?
