Hi.I have a problem with the outside security spotlight.It stays on continously day & night.I have had it for 8 years now.

I have bought a new bulb & as soon as I put it in,it comes straight on.

It used to come on when it gets dark & was on a sensor.

Any help appreciated.

Could be a couple of faults.
1/ switching relay stuck in closed position
2/ photo cell to keep the light off during daylight has failed

If it's the relay, full light replacement would be the only option, but you could try to dismantle the PIR to see if the relay can be replaced.

Is there an adjustment pot for the photo cell? If so try turning it back and forwards a couple of times that can sometimes cure it. But remember where the initial position is before turning it.
