How do I wire an in line switch for my 2 core bedside lamp

This can vary according to the switch but but normally you need to very carefully remove a section of outer flex then cut only the brown wire and put this across the switch leaving blue and if exists yellow/green untouched. Some switches are double pole and then you need to cut blue as well but that is unusual.
