I have had a problem with an RCD tripping out recently in my house.
Each time it happens we investigate, unplug everything, check each circuit and find nothing. The RCD has been changed.
Does any one out there have any experience of a similar fault and how did you track it down?

P.S. I am doing my 2391 in May. I am at an age where I put the information in my head and it promptly falls out the other side. Is the exam as hard as I hear?

I fitted RCD's to all circuits in my house back in 1990 and no problems but as time has gone on tripping has become more and more common as we used more and more switched mode power supplies and EMC components this is I am sure why the IET have said splitting the supply into circuits should include the RCD's and I think even two ring mains on there own RCD's will not be enough with the harmonics produced with electronic equipment. In one place we had to power all PC's through UPS's to stop the tripping.
